To make the most of the funds available, through donations and grants, the majority of the work is performed by the US Lighthouse Society and Chesapeake Chapter, US Lighthouse Society volunteers. Your contributions are used exclusively for the preservation/restoration efforts. These efforts include the purchasing of materials and supplies needed to get the job done, and transportation out to the lighthouse and back. Donations to Hooper Island Light are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by the IRS.
